Playful and Direct Wisdom: Art King Status Style

I love how Basquiat skillfully uses his wisdom, knowledge and experience to playfully and humbly educate the interviewer who is unknowingly and annoyingly full of microaggressions, and not so micro aggressions.

The following was borrowed from Art Support, which I encourage you to follow:

Are you affected by what other people say about your art? Jean-Michael Basquiat has some words of wisdom on how to ignore what the critics say, and express yourself authentically.

Jean-Michael Basquiat Biography Many people think that Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 -1988), who was born in New York, was one of the most important artists of the 1980s and 1990s. Basquiat tried out street art when he was a young adult. He was known as SAMO in the downtown art scene of New York City. In 1981, he was part of a groundbreaking show called "New York/New Wave" at MoMA's PS1 branch in Long Island City. During his short, high-profile career, the artist looked at issues like what it means to be black in America, the effects of colonization, and the effects of consumerism.
